Ditzler code IM1702 - green
This green automotive paint color is most commonly known as Ottawa Blue. Another common paint color promotional name is Spruce Green. The color formulation has been used between 1937 and 1938, primarily by Chevrolet; but also by Buick. We have records of this color appearing on the Chevrolet and Buick. IM1702 is a paint code for PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass) who has been providing automotive paints since 1924 (originally Ditzler Color Company subsidiary acquired in 1928). PPG/Ditzler codes starting with the letters "IM" indicate Ditz-Lac colored lacquers and polychromatics (fine aluminum powder added) and were used before 1940.
