Ditzler code IM682 - gray
This gray automotive paint color is most commonly known as Arizona Gray. Other common color promotional names include La Torque Gray, Astoria Gray Dark, Scaraba Green, and LaTorquet Gray. The color formulation has been used between 1930 and 1933, primarily by Chevrolet; but also by Buick, Dodge, Chrysler, Oldsmobile, and DeSoto. IM682 is a paint code for PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass) who has been providing automotive paints since 1924 (originally Ditzler Color Company subsidiary acquired in 1928). PPG/Ditzler codes starting with the letters "IM" indicate Ditz-Lac colored lacquers and polychromatics (fine aluminum powder added) and were used before 1940.
